Ozet
Clare, 1920’ler hayatını beyaz gibi davranarak yaşamaya karar veren açık tenli siyahi bir kadındır. Kendisi gibi olan okul arkadaşı Irene ise Afro-Amerikan toplumunun içinde yaşar. Yıllar sonra yeniden bir araya gelen Clare ve Irene, seçimleri nedeniyle çatışma yaşar. Renk çizgisinin zıt taraflarında yaşamayı seçen Clare ve Irene, zamanla birbirlerini kendi dünyalarına çeker.
