Ozet
20. yüzyılın başlarında Maine'de yaşayan, iki deniz feneri bekçisinin hikayesini konu ediyor. Eski bir denizci olan Thomas Wake, gizemli bir adada deniz feneri bekçiliği yapan bir adamdır. Yıllardır adada tek başına bekçilik yapan Thomas’ın yanına, işlerde yardımcı olması için Ephraim Winslow adında bir genç gönderilir. Birlikte çalışmaya başlayan Thomas ve Ephraim arasında çok geçmeden büyük bir iktidar savaşı meydana gelir. Yaptığı işi büyük bir sorumlulukla yerine getiren Thomas, gücünü ispatlamak için tecrübesiz bir genç olan Ephraim üzerinde baskı kurmaya başlar. Ufak bir adada deniz fenerinin içinde hapsolan ve zamanla akıl sağlığını kaybetmeye başlayan iki adam, en derin korkuları ile yüzleşmek zorunda kalır.
