Ozet
1503 yılında Katolik Kilisesi'nin başına geçen Papa II. Julius bir yandan diğer İtalyan şehir devletleri ve komşu ülke Fransa'yla savaşırken, diğer yandan da bilim adamlarının ve sanatçıların koruyuculuğunu yapıyordu. Bu ihtiraslı ve savaşçı lider ordusuyla Roma'ya geldiğinde birçok sanatçıyı etrafında toplayarak bazı yeni mimari ve sanat eserlerinin yapımı için emirler verir. Bu arada devrin ünlü heykeltraşı Michelangelo’yu da Sistine Şapeli’nin tavanına görkemli bir dinî fresk yapması için görevlendirir. Ancak ünlü heykeltraş resim yapmaktan pek hoşlanmamaktadır ve bu istek karşısında sürekli ayak diretir, hatta bu görevi kabul etmemek için İstanbul'a gidip Osmanlı Sultanı için Haliç Köprüsü projesinde çalışmayı düşünür, üstelik bu iş için Sultan'dan kaparo bile alır.
