This was a cartoon that only the 80s could provide. You can almost hear the pitch for it "Imagine the Smurfs, underwater, for the MTV generation." And that is kind of exactly what you got, the smurfs that did more than that annoying "la la la" song, set underwater, in a vibrant 80s color world...
